Western Group Dance Competition ABOUT Country/western dance, also called Country and Western dance, encompasses many dance forms or styles, which are typically danced to country-western music, and which are stylistically associated with American country and/or western traditions. Dance, along with music, has always dynamically expressed the spirit and personality of every culture. Modern western dance is part of this global language and its roots run wide and deep. They can be traced to the taverns of Ireland and to the ballrooms of Europe. Representatives from all of these cultures brought their native dances when they landed in America. Widely differing peoples who had little or no exposure to one another gathered and danced on common ground. RULES There should be one team from each college. There should be 6-8 participants in each team. The Maximum performing time will be 08 minutes. Time for entry and exit on stage will be 03 minutes. The theme should be strictly western. Costumes and other properties for dance have to be arranged by participants themselves. The decision of the judges will be last and final.  Western Solo Dance Competition RULES There should be one participant from each college. The Maximum time will be 5 -7 minutes. The Maximum performing time will be 08 minutes. Time for entry and exit on stage will be 03 minutes. Participants should perform on given theme (Indian state dance reflecting Indian culture). Costumes and other properties for dance have to be arranged by participants themselves. The decision of the judges will be last and final.  Indian Solo Dance Competition ABOUT Dance in India comprises the varied styles of dances in the country. As with other aspects of Indian culture, different forms of dances originated in different parts of India, developed according to the local traditions and also imbibed elements from other parts of the country. Classical dance in India has developed a type of dance-drama that is a form of a total theater. The dancer acts out a story almost exclusively through gestures. Most of the classical dances enact stories from Hindu mythology. Each form represents the culture and ethos of a particular region or a group of people. RULEs 1. The decision of the judges will be last and final.  Rangoli Competition RULES There is no restriction for participating teams from each college. There should be two participants in each team. The Maximum time will be 2Hr 30 minutes. Participating team has to bring their own material. Evaluation will be based on creativity, clarity, colors, artistry and theme conveyed. The decision of the judges will be final.  Light Vocal Solo (Indian non filmy song) Competition RULES There should be one participant from each college. The Maximum time will be 5 minutes. Time for entry and exit on stage will be 02 minutes. There will be only three instrumental accompanists. Evaluation will be based on selection of song, taal, swar & lay. The decision of the judges will be final. light vocal GROUP SONG RULES There should be one team from each college. Each team will be 4-6 participants. The Maximum performing time will be 07 minutes. Time for entry and exit on stage will be 02 minutes. There will be only three instrumental accompanists. Evaluation will be based on selection of song, taal, swar, lay and coordination. The decision of the judges will be final.
QUIZ ABOUT A quiz is a form of game or mind sport in which the players (as individuals or in teams) attempt to answer questions correctly. In some countries, a quiz is also a brief assessment used in education and similar fields to measure growth in knowledge, abilities, and/or skills. Quizzes are usually scored in points and many quizzes are designed to determine a winner from a group of participants – usually the participant with the highest score. RULES One team from each college will be eligible to participate. Each team will consist of four participants. Rules & regulations will be clarified in advance by the event coordinator of quiz.  Debate Competition RULES Maximum two teams (of 2 members each team) from each college. The Maximum time will be 5 minutes for each participant. There will be one min time for rebuttal round. Warning bell 1min prior to the final bell. Evaluation will be based on content, confidence, presentation skill, arguments and art of rebutting. Language can either be Hindi or English The decision of the judges will be final. CREATIVE WRITING ABOUT Creative writing is any writing that goes outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, or technical forms of literature, typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft and character development. Both fictional and non-fictional works fall into this category. Creative writing can technically be considered any writing of original composition. Unlike its academic counterpart of writing classes that teach students to compose work based on the rules of the language, creative writing is believed to focus on students’ self-expression. RULES It will be an open event for the students of IPS. The Maximum time will be 30 minutes. Participants have to write based on the visuals presented before them. Maximum time for visual display will be 5 minutes. Text content will be limit to 500 words only. For writing, sheets will be provided by institute. Evaluation will be based on presentation, writing skill, content relating to the visual. The decision of the judges will be final. Street Play competition RULES One team from each college will be eligible to participate. There should be 06-08 participants in each team. The Maximum time allotted to each team will be 15 minutes. Time for entry and exit on stage will be 02 minutes. Performance should be based on specific message issue (Theme based) Evaluation will be based on selection of theme, presentation, timing and coordination. The decision of the judges will be final.

 

 Salad decoration Competition RULES Participation is open for all interested students of IPS-GOC. The Maximum time for salad decoration will be of 1Hr 30 minutes. The maximum number of participants will be 2. Participating team has to bring necessary materials (like tools, rice plate etc.) for the competition. Only Table will be provided by the institute. Evaluation will be based on First impression, Hygiene in preparation, Design composition/creativity, Taste, Presentation Apart from toothpick no decorative material will be used on the decorated plate. Participants can only use Fruits, Vegetables, Sprouts and Dry fruits for decorating the salad. The decision of the judges will be final.  Flower Pot decoration competition RULES Participation is open for all interested students of IPS-GOC. Maximum number of participants will be 2 in each team. The Maximum time allotted to the each team will be 2hrs. Participating team has to bring their own material. Only flower pot will be provided by institute. Evaluation will be based on creativity, presentation and clarity. The decision of the judges will be final.  Fun Fiesta Competition RULES Participation is open for all interested students of IPS-GOC. Maximum number of participants will be 3 in each team. Stalls may contain food items or game. Size of stall will be 4ft(l) x 5ft(w). Stallholders must maintain their stalls in a clean and tidy manner and must take away all unsold items, boxes, papers, wrapping etc. Stallholders can keep the listed items mentioned in their application form only. Evaluation will be based on presentation, sale and items to be sold. The decision of the judges will be final.
