A landmark Harvard study on employability highlights that 85% of workplace success depends on soft skills, while only 15% is determined by technical expertise. Despite the steady increase in graduates from disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Education, and Pharmacy, a considerable gap persists between academic learning and industry readiness. This gap primarily stems from limited institute–industry collaboration and inadequate emphasis on soft skills, communication, and knowledge of corporate HR practices.
To address this challenge, the institute launched the IPS Finishing School in 2011, a pioneering initiative exclusively devoted to enhancing student employability. Since its inception, the school has designed and delivered specialised programmes, short-term courses, and training modules to strengthen soft skills, managerial competencies, and communication abilities—thereby complementing academic learning.
The IPS Finishing School extends its training across multiple disciplines, ensuring that students from B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Pharmacy, and B.Sc. are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in a competitive professional environment.
Developed in consultation with the Corporate Advisory Board, the Industry Interface Development Centre, and leading industry experts, the curriculum ensures relevance, practicality, and alignment with corporate expectations.
